In this episode, Afashan Sayyed engages with Jackie Donner from Lawflex, a Tel Aviv based Alternative Legal Service Provider in a conversation centered around the ALSP Ecosystem, its drivers, its challenges on both sides of the coin, its value addition, and operational reality – in a succinct to-the-point discussion that gives a bird’s eye view of this fascinating new market in the Legal Domain. The talk also looks at the relationship of ALSPs and Legal Technology, and the catalyzing factors that are driving the growth of the ALSP market.
Jackie Donner, the cofounder of Lawflex, created Lawflex as an answer to law firms’ yearning to reduce costs as well as lawyers’ realization that the traditional legal career model was no longer working for them. Jackie gained an MSt from Oxford University, a BSc from London School of Economics, and a B.A. from Tel Aviv University. She qualified as an English lawyer at BBP University Law School, and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. She is also a holder of the STEP Qualification.
Before founding LawFlex, Jackie worked as an English lawyer for Epstein Rosenblum Maoz in their corporate department, and then as a member of their private client team on English law matters. Jackie has acted on high-profile transactions for FTSE 100 and Tel Aviv 35 corporate clients, internet and technology companies, as well for leading financial institutions and banks. Prior to ERM, Jackie worked in the corporate department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, and as a legal counsel at Morgan Stanley and Fidelity International.
